WHY THIS ASSOCIATION?
The readymade garments (RMG) sector of Bangladesh has been introduced as the biggest earner of foreign currency. This sector has created employment opportunities for almost 4.5 million people and contributed significantly to the GDP. The RMG industry is dominated by young energetic people where mostly are men. However, this sector is facing many challenges just because of not having efficient employees. Head hunters are even recruiting none tech professionals from other backgrounds whereas, thousands of textiles graduates are coming out every year.
Especially girls. Sadly, this fact is being overlooked every single time. For example, there are approximately 6 institutions only for girls that offer B. Sc, in Textiles but young graduates do’t
get proper attention from the head hunters of the RMG Industry because they do not even know about this. The Textile Tech Association will
work on this specific issue just to build that strong connection between the head hunters and the job seekers as well as ensure the equity of both male and female employees for having the best output in the organization. Another notable issue is,that the mid-level women who’re already working in this RMG sector have to go through harassment, bullies, and insecurities. As a result, they tend to quit because of not having any place to share their issues. Therefore, this association will be a place of hope and voice on behalf of the entire mid-level working women in the RMG sector.
